Faun

Fauns (satyrs) resemble humans above the navel, goats below. A faun's lower body features a short tail, wooly fur, and backward-bending legs ending in cloven hooves. The goatish looks don't quite stop at the waist; fauns have horns and pointy ears, and males have a goatee. There are both male and female satyrs, and bringing up the myth that nymphs are females and satyrs the males of a single species is an excellent way to start a fight.

Fauns are viewed as half-animals and often treated as wild creatures or pets; they originate from a recently found planet which had barely passed to TL4 before overtaken by the Empire. By default, fauns start with Low TL disadvantage; but it can be bought off.
