Note that last part – there are female fauns, and bringing up the myth that fauns and nymphs are males and females of a single species is an excellent way to start a fight.
Fauns are viewed as half-animals and often treated as wild creatures or pets; they originate from a recently found planet which had barely passed to TL4 before overtaken by the Empire. By default, fauns start with Low TL disadvantage; but it can be bought off.
