A mystical Finnish martial art. The skills were preserved in the Valkonen family over 30 generations. The master of this art is Kaarlo Valkonen living at Hankasalmi, Central Finland.[1][2]

Practicioners learn to defend against puukko, Finnish small knife, and other techniques and weapons commonly used in Finnish brawls. A wooden puukko is used when practicing.

A crooked walking stick with a hook, called sotilasvanhus (Old Soldier) is used by older masters to trip, hook and grapple opponents.

Plenty of other weapons also appear: keihäs, kirves, miekka, sirppi (a sickle a type used in Finland to harvest grain), various thrown weapons, karttu, remmi or remeli.
